Football Recap: Ellington Knights vs. Weaver Beavers
After flying high against Capital Prep/Achievement First last Friday, Ellington came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Weaver Beavers by a score of 42-39 on Thursday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Weaver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaiden Booth, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 30 yards and one score. Booth got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Mitchell, who gained 189 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ellington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Weaver, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Ellington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-7 loss against Rockville on the 26th. As for Weaver, they have also already played their next contest, a 35-6 victory against Capital Prep/Achievement First on the 27th.
