Soccer Game Preview: Tatum vs. Pine Tree

The Tatum Eagles will take on the Pine Tree Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tatum has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 14.

Tatum lost 7-1 to Henderson on Tuesday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Eagles were already down 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Abel Aguirre, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Pine Tree managed to keep up with Sabine until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Pine Tree came up short against Sabine, falling 4-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Cardinals are ranked 354th).

Pine Tree's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Axel Alvarado got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 38.3). Alvarado made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Tatum's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pine Tree, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
