Baseball Recap: Tuscarora Takes a Loss

Tuscarora is still winless after their game against Woodgrove on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wolverines. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Tuscarora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chas Battaglia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ashton Peshke also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tuscarora's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Woodgrove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscarora will head out to square off against John Champe at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodgrove, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Briar Woods at 6:30 p.m. on April 4.
