Game recap: 20-point quarter leads Fort LeBoeuf high school football team to defeat of Cambridge Springs

Fort LeBoeuf (Waterford, Pa.) scored 20 points in the first quarter to secure a big 39-12 victory over Cambridge Springs (Pa.) on Saturday.

The Bison scored on a defensive touchdown, a rushing touchdown and a touchdown run in the quarter.

Fort LeBoeuf was up 26-0 at the half after taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter.

FL expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. The Waterford school scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.

Devin Walker played well for the Devils. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.



The Bison came in allowing an average of 22.0 points per game this season. Fort LeBoeuf held firm on the defensive front, and kept Cambridge Springs below the 17.3 points it had been averaging per game.

The victory was a step in the right direction for FL, which was coming off a 29-0 defeat at the hands of Northwestern in its previous game.

Fort LeBoeuf (3-4) goes up against Fairview in a District 10 Region 4 AA game matchup next week, while Cambridge Springs (2-5) locks horns with Maplewood in a District 10 Region 2 A game.
