Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lawrence County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Betsy Layne Bobcats a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lawrence County and bumps their season record up to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Betsy Layne, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Coming up, Lawrence County will square off against Lewis County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Betsy Layne, they will face off against Paintsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
