Softball Recap: Brooks Lions vs. Central Wildcats
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brooks had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Central Wildcats onto the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Brooks, who have now won 19 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Abby Herndon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over five innings pitched. Herndon was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and a triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylee Darby, who went 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and a double. Karley Moreland was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
