AAAAAA Region 2 recap November 5, 2013

Druid Hills led AAAAAA Region 2 in scoring this week by notching 66 points on Morrow.

The Red Devils made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,233 from 7,676. The improvement was largely due to a 66-46 victory over the Mustangs last week.

Luella's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Donald Hammond threw for 69 yards and Quad Clemmons had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Trevone Sullivan contributed 94 yards. Jaylon Harris helped Luella's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.

The Lions' dynamic duo of Hammond and Clemmons proved to be unstoppable against Newton, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harris helped Luella's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.

Sullivan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Luella lost to the Rams.

Newton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Romario Johnson has thrown for 1,088 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Davonta Jones has 24 catches for 473 yards. Johnson also leads the league in rushing with 497 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Lovejoy takes on second place Alcovy.
