Reedley barely beat Roosevelt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates blew past the Rough Riders 3-0 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.
Reedley never let Roosevelt on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 31-29, 25-20.
Moses Quevedo paced Reedley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Quevedo got some help from Adrian Vargas and his 35 assists. Vargas also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jose Castaneda-Valle, racking up three apiece.
Reedley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-13 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-17.
