Soccer Game Preview: Spring Lake vs. Holland Christian

After a short break, it's finally time for some more action. The Spring Lake Lakers are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Holland Christian Maroons at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Spring Lake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Unity Christian, who was ranked first at the time (Spring Lake was ranked seventh). The Lakers fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 1-0 two weeks ago. The loss was Spring Lake's first of the season.

Meanwhile, neither Holland Christian nor Zeeland East could gain the upper hand two weeks ago so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Holland Christian's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-2. As for Spring Lake, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Spring Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Holland Christian in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Lakers repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
