Volleyball Recap: Southwest EC Takes a Loss

Southwest EC lost against Calexico on April 15th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs.

Southwest EC took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-13, 25-20.

Calexico had a senior duo take command as Jose Pablo Reyna had 19 digs and four aces and Gerardo Diaz had 29 digs and four aces. Diaz has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more digs the last ten times he's played. Jose Contreras was another key player, getting 15 assists and ten digs.

Southwest EC's defeat dropped their record down to 14-21. As for Calexico, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Southwest EC nor Calexico have any future games scheduled.
