Centauri put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over the Bayfield Wolverines. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Wolverines are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centauri to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Bagwell, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 17 points. The game was Bagwell's third in a row with at least 16 points. Troy Sowards was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 17 points.

Centauri was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayfield only racked up eight assists.

When it comes to explaining why Bayfield lost, don't look at Lincoln Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Williams has become a key player for Bayfield: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least eight boards, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Wilmer, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points.

Centauri pushed their record up to 18-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bayfield, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Centauri has already played their next match, a 65-27 win against Monte Vista on the 15th. As for Bayfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-46 victory against Ignacio on the 13th.
