Basketball Recap: Ella Busby Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Central Magnet

Summertown lost to Central Magnet back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. Everything went the Summertown Eagles' way against Central Magnet as the Summertown Eagles made off with a 40-17 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Summertown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Busby led the charge by putting up 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Busby is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Blackwood, who posted seven points.

Summertown's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Central Magnet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Summertown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-15 victory against Spring Hill on the 10th. As for Central Magnet, they will venture away from home to face off against Cannon County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
