The Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets will take on the Elgin Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Monday, Cory-Rawson didn't have quite enough to beat North Baltimore and fell 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Hornets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Katelyn Duffman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Alexis Roth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). They walked away with a 10-6 victory over Ridgemont on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Comets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Madison Hill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Maycee Muselin was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Emilie Bishop, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
The win snapped Elgin's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-8 record. As for Cory-Rawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Cory-Rawson's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Fighting Hornets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Elgin, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Cory-Rawson continue to outrun the ball?
