Volleyball Recap: Mattamuskeet Comes Up Short

Mattamuskeet had lost 13 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 0-16 to make it 14. They came up short against the Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Griffins, falling 3-0. The Lakers were not able to make up for their loss to the Griffins from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Mattamuskeet's offense was headlined by Carley Roberts and Carsyn Marshall, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Savanah Whitfield and her four assists. Akira Allen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, their victory ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 10-17. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 10th (when they won 3-0).

Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech was led to victory by Allison Cropp and Ann-Margaret Peel. Cropp had seven aces and three digs, while Peel had nine assists and seven digs. What's more, Cropp posted three assists, the most she's had since back in September.

As of now, neither Mattamuskeet nor Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech have any future games scheduled.
