Softball Recap: Glenbard East Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Glenbard East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Ridgewood Rebels as they made off with a 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Melissa Saldana was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emma Jaras also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Glenbard East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgewood only posted a batting average of .148.

Glenbard East pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Ridgewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenbard East will welcome West Chicago at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Ridgewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elmwood Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
