Softball Recap: Churubusco Takes a Loss

Churubusco had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 11-7 to make it five. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodlan Warriors. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Woodlan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

For Woodlan's part, the team relied heavily on Addison Klotz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Lexi Metzger, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Churubusco wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-1 victory against Lakewood Park Christian on the 12th. As for Woodlan, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-5 win against Antwerp on the 12th.
