Upperman and Alcoa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Upperman had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 49-28. The Bees' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Bronzdon Chaffin and Carmine Phillips certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Chaffin rushed for 127 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, while Phillips gained 173 total yards.

Alcoa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Manu, who threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. Those 287 passing yards gave Manu a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Jones, who rushed for 50 yards and three scores.

Upperman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Alcoa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Upperman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alcoa, they will face off against Red Bank at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tornadoes 10, the Lions 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
