Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Valor Christian

Douglas County faced Valor Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Huskies fell 3-1 to the Eagles. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Douglas County had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-27, 25-23.

Jayden Chan paced Douglas County's offense, picking up ten kills. Chan got some help from Blake Allen and his 33 assists.

Douglas County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for Valor Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Douglas County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Highlands Ranch on the 29th. Valor Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
