Softball Game Preview: Woodland Christian Cardinals vs. Ripon Indians

The Woodland Christian Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Ripon Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodland Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Ripon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Woodland Christian took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Colusa, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals skirted past the RedHawks 7-6.

Meanwhile, Ripon waltzed into their game on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Cougars 10-1. Considering the Indians have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Naranjo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Izabelle Spurzem, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Ripon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only posted an OBP of .235.

Ripon pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Woodland Christian, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
