Basketball Recap: Loch Raven Falls Despite Big Games from Jadon Conteh and Kensley Marcus

Loch Raven was the 46-36 winner over Chesapeake when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Loch Raven Raiders fell just short of the Chesapeake Bay Hawks by a score of 45-42 on Wednesday.

Kensley Marcus and Jadon Conteh certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Marcus posted 21 points, while Conteh had 19 points. That was a full 50% of Loch Raven's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Loch Raven has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Chesapeake, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Coming up, Loch Raven will venture away from home to face off against Perry Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Loch Raven has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Chesapeake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dundalk at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
