Soccer Game Preview: Milton Academy vs. Rivers

The Milton Academy Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Rivers Red Wings at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Milton Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Milton Academy had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt St. Mark's on Wednesday. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Lions a 5-0 shutout. Considering Milton Academy have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Rivers hasn't lost a match since September 21st, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Thayer Academy. The win continues a trend for Rivers in their matchups with Thayer Academy: they've now won seven in a row.

Milton Academy's record now sits at 8-2-2. As for Rivers, their record is now 6-3-2.

Milton Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Rivers when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Red Wings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
