Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meridian). They never let the Shelbyville Rams get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Meridian let Morgan Knierim and Shelby Renfro run wild. Knierim got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Renfro got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Renfro has posted since back in April. Hayley Hanson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Meridian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelbyville only posted an OBP of .294.

Looking ahead, Meridian is taking a road trip to challenge St. Joseph-Ogden at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
