Football Recap: Exeter Comes Up Short

Exeter came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 31-0 loss at the hands of the Washington Union Panthers. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Jareal Albert produced another solid effort rushing for 123 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry for Washington Union. With that strong performance, Albert is now averaging an impressive 100.3 rushing yards per game.

Exeter now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Washington Union, their record is now 5-2.

Looking ahead, Exeter will venture away from home to take on Hanford West at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Washington Union, they will welcome Reedley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
