Baseball Game Preview: Sheboygan Falls Falcons vs. Two Rivers Purple Raiders

For the second straight game, Sheboygan Falls will face off against Two Rivers. The Falcons will face off against the Purple Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sheboygan Falls has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 25.

Sheboygan Falls came up short against Two Rivers on Tuesday, falling 25-12. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 13 runs.

For Two Rivers' part, Derek Klinkner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Klinkner has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six runs, three stolen bases, and one triple. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April.

In other batting news, Odin Clem was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four runs and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Alex Johnson was another key player, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Sheboygan Falls' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Two Rivers, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
