Soccer Game Preview: Tellico Plains vs. Greenback

The Tellico Plains Bears will head out on the road to take on the Greenback Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tellico Plains is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Tellico Plains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, Greenback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-4 to Polk County.

Greenback's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Tellico Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Tellico Plains' way against Greenback in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tellico Plains made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
