Softball Recap: Freeport Gets the Win

Freeport got themselves on the board against Ponce De Leon on Tuesday, but Ponce De Leon never followed suit. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Kaylee Carroll, who gave up just two hits to keep Ponce De Leon off the board.

At the plate, Freeport's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Annsleigh Withey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Withey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ponce De Leon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

As of now, neither Freeport nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
