Baseball Game Preview: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins vs. Washington Eagles

St. Patrick-St. Vincent is a perfect 4-0 against Washington since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bruins will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. St. Patrick-St. Vincent will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, St. Patrick-St. Vincent got the win against Vallejo by a conclusive 18-1. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Bo Smith was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because St. Patrick-St. Vincent is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Madden Mendez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Washington scored first but ultimately less than Lowell in their game on Thursday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 9-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Washington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Wilson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent took their victory against Washington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
