It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mitchell had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the East Lake Eagles. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Taylor Tucker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on MacKenzie Tucker, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Audrey Midyett also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mitchell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.

Mitchell's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Lake, they moved to 21-5 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Coming up, Mitchell will square off against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulls will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. East Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
