Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

Sacred Heart lost against Victory Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sacred Heart Tigers were outmatched by the Victory Christian Academy Patriots and fell 63-35. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1305th, while the Patriots are ranked 590th).

Layton Huddleston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Victory Christian Academy, going 6 for 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Caiden Shetter, who posted nine points along with six assists and six boards.

Sacred Heart dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart will welcome Mercy Culture Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Bethesda Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethesda Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with seven straight losses, while Victory Christian Academy will come in with ten straight victories.
