Soccer Game Preview: Murrieta Mesa vs. Vista Murrieta

The Murrieta Mesa Rams will square off against the Vista Murrieta Broncos at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Murrieta Mesa is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Temecula Valley on Wednesday. Murrieta Mesa lost 4-1 to Temecula Valley. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 859th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 407th).

Meanwhile, Vista Murrieta was not the first on the board last Wednesday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Murrieta Valley. The result kept the Broncos happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 26, 2024.

They hit Murrieta Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caeden Rush, David Mejia, and Roman Rodriguez.

Vista Murrieta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six matchups. As for Murrieta Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Murrieta Mesa might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Vista Murrieta when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Murrieta Mesa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
