Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Catholic Trojans vs. Pierce Bluejays

Having just played yesterday, the Cedar Catholic Trojans will get right back to it and host the Pierce Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Cedar Catholic came up short against Dakota Valley and fell 74-64. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Pierce ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over Lakeview. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bluejays have posted since January 25, 2024.

Pierce's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cedar Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Cedar Catholic beat Pierce 39-31 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Cedar Catholic repeat their success, or does Pierce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
