Basketball Recap: Concordia Lutheran Falls Despite Big Games from Elijah Boyd and Ghaven Mittal

After flying high against Legacy Ranch on Thursday, Concordia Lutheran came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell 50-42 to the University Trojans on Thursday. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Concordia Lutheran had strong showings from Ghaven Mittal, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 16 points, and Elijah Boyd, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points. Boyd is becoming a predictor of the Crusaders' success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 4-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Coleman, who posted four points.

Concordia Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for University, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Concordia Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-48 victory against Lake Belton on the 12th. As for University, they have also already played their next game, a 41-26 win against Legacy Ranch on the 12th.
