Baseball Recap: Newport Starts Season with Victory Against Tillamook

Newport gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They never let the Tillamook Cheesemakers get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Cheesemakers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Newport didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-7 loss against Molalla on the 19th. As for Tillamook, they will head out on the road to face off against Madras at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
