Basketball Recap: Timberlake Comes Up Short

After soaring to 69 points the game before, Timberlake was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Bonners Ferry Badgers and fell 73-28. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Badgers are ranked third).

When it comes to explaining why Timberlake lost, don't look at Maximilian Simpson. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Lake Hiaasen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Timberlake's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6. As for Bonners Ferry, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Timberlake has already played their next matchup, a 58-55 win against Kellogg on the 21st. As for Bonners Ferry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-60 victory against Logos on the 20th.
