Basketball Recap: Southeast's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Southeast was the 70-68 winner over Bishop Carroll when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Southeast Golden Buffalo took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles on Thursday. Golden Buffalo fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Golden Eagles since on Thursday.

Loss or not, Southeast got some senior leadership from Parker Hardgrave and Collin Laws. Hardgrave shot 59% from the field to rack up 23 points and eight boards, while Laws went 6-for-13 en route to 15 points. Hardgrave is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Dinh, who posted six points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Southeast moved to 10-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Bishop Carroll, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.

As of now, neither Southeast nor Bishop Carroll have any future games scheduled.
