Baseball Recap: South Stokes Sauras vs. East Wilkes Cardinals

South Stokes had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the East Wilkes Cardinals on Thursday. The win was just what South Stokes needed coming off of a 12-4 loss in their prior contest.

Maddox Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Tucker Monday was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Samuel Kidd was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
