Preview: Spring Grove Lions vs. St. Charles Fighting Saints
Spring Grove has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the St. Charles Fighting Saints at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Spring Grove is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Charles in Minnesota (Spring Grove is ranked 123rd, while St. Charles is ranked 381st).
Spring Grove has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Wabasha-Kellogg on Tuesday as Spring Grove made off with a 63-43 victory.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to St. Charles, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 69-23 loss at the hands of Chatfield.
Spring Grove pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for St. Charles, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Spring Grove came up short against St. Charles when the teams last played back in January, falling 64-53. Can Spring Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
