Baseball Recap: Payne Tech Takes a Loss

If Payne Tech was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Westampton Tech last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions came up short against the Bloomfield Bengals on Monday, falling 8-2. The Lions were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Bengals' pitchers proved too tough.

Payne Tech moved to 3-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bloomfield, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payne Tech will head out to take on East Orange Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloomfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Montclair Kimberley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
