Baseball Recap: Dysart Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Dysart had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cortez Colts as they made off with a 14-4 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Demons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nathan Sinclair Delgado made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Dysart: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 7-9 otherwise. Sinclair Delgado was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on John Amparan, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Aaron Olivas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Dysart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Dysart now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Cortez, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Dysart will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
