Santiam Christian entered their tilt with Amity on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landon VanLeuven was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Santiam Christian got a massive performance out of Justin Oberfoell, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Oberfoell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Rahn, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Santiam Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 15.2.

Santiam Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Amity, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
