Baseball Recap: Rigby's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland, Rigby was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Thunder Ridge Titans by a score of 6-1. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kace Stapleton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on DJ Boudrero, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bentley Brower, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Rigby's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Thunder Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Rigby will have a chance to go back-to-back against Thunder Ridge: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
