Yulee took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hilliard Red Flashes with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Red Flashes: they've now won three in a row.

One reason for the win was Yulee's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-16.

Yulee found their leader in sophomore Lilyan Marlin-Eubank-Espinosa, who had eight assists and four aces.

Yulee was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Hilliard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yulee will face off against Beaches Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hilliard, they will challenge Fernandina Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
