Baseball Recap: Novi Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Novi Christian Academy extended their winning streak to six on Monday, bumping their season record up to 14-7 in the process. They blew past the Southfield Christian Eagles 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brett Polakowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Novi Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Luke Gallagher, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Gallagher has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 10-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Landen Spencer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Novi Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .481 or higher in three consecutive contests.

As for Southfield Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

On Southfield Christian's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Wyatt, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Novi Christian Academy beat the Eagles by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday.
