Basketball Recap: San Fernando Takes a Loss

San Fernando lost against Arleta back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The San Fernando Tigers fell 65-55 to the Arleta Mustangs.

When it comes to explaining why San Fernando lost, don't look at Omar Chavez. Despite the final result, he posted 32 points. That was a full 58.2% of San Fernando's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Cabrera, who put up ten points.

San Fernando's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Arleta, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Fernando and Panorama will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. San Fernando knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Panorama likes a good challenge. As for Arleta, they are taking a road trip to take on Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
