While West Fork didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tarkington Longhorns 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Gators' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory made it two in a row for West Fork and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tarkington, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

West Fork has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Coldspring-Oakhurst on the 27th. As for Tarkington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Hardin on the 28th.
