Baseball Game Preview: Calvert Senecas vs. Genoa Area Comets

The Calvert Senecas will challenge the Genoa Area Comets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Calvert will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Calvert had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Danbury on Wednesday. The Senecas blew past the Lakers 11-1. The matchup marked the Senecas' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Genoa Area didn't have quite enough to beat Otsego on Friday and fell 7-6.

Calvert's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Genoa Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Calvert's way against Genoa Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Calvert made off with a 9-3 win. Do the Senecas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
