Staples hasn't had much luck against Trumbull recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wreckers will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Staples is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Staples is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since May 13, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of Ludlowe by a score of 9-7.

Staples saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Schwartz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Trumbull entered their tilt with Norwalk on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Bears 17-5. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Trumbull's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Staples, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Staples couldn't quite finish off Trumbull in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Wreckers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
