Football Recap: Seminole Ridge Wins High-Profile Contest Against Spanish River

Seminole Ridge faced Spanish River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Hawks walked away with a 25-12 victory over the Sharks. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.

Seminole Ridge found their leader in sophomore Aubrey Fogel, who threw for 229 yards and three TDs while completing 77.5% of her passes.

Seminole Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ja'Niah Tejeda and Chachi Saunders. Tejeda has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times she's played.

Seminole Ridge pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.6 points on average over those games. As for Spanish River, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
