Amherst had won five straight games and Breckyn Layne Veskerna did her part to make it six on Monday. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Axtell Wildcats with plenty of help from Layne Veskerna, who had 28 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 18 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Amherst was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-6, 25-10.

Amherst's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Axtell, they dropped their record down to 13-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Amherst didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Overton on the 28th. Axtell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
