Recap: Hammond Golden Bears vs. Century Knights

The Hammond Golden Bears put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Century for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-41 win at home. Considering Hammond has won three contests by more than 33 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hammond got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nia Green out in front who scored 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Green also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Asia Mitchell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Hammond pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Century, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Hammond won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arundel at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Arundel comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Century is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Marriotts Ridge on December 20th. Marriotts Ridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
